About Kirsten Rae
...........................................................................................................
No stories of childhood musical progeny. No dreams come true of televised talent shows and instant stardom. Kirsten’s is a story of discovering her talent, hard work and hustle, and an ever-deepening love of all things funk, jazz and R&B.
At the end of her first year of Vocal Jazz Performance at Humber College, Kirsten landed her first singing role leading the jazz/funk/R&B collective ‘No Stone’. A studio album in 2006 led to summers packed playing jazz festivals and the closing performance of Canadian Music Week in 2008. Kirsten has sung both lead and back-up, covers and originals with several other local indie bands. She has also become sought after as a session vocalist for a number of talented artists in Toronto.
Now, after five years with ‘No Stone’ and sharing the stage with artists including The Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, The Pocket Dwellers, Z-Trip, KC Roberts, Melissa Bathory and many others, Kirsten is branching out with a solo career of her own.
If one were to take away the part of her life that involves music, it would be like losing the most essential piece of a puzzle...one that she has put together so many times, and without that one piece the puzzle means absolutely nothing.
Music is constant. No matter who you are, there's a song that makes you tap your feet or bob your head, and that's what Kirsten endeavors to create. Please stay tuned for new tracks, upcoming show dates, info about Kirsten Rea and general goodness. |
